Textile concrete is the material of the future. Lean concrete components with high load bearing capacity and low net weight are no more a vision of the future but reality already today. If concrete reinforcements are made for example from carbon instead of steel, you will obtain a much lighter and thinner construction of even more stability. No more corrosion protection in the alkaline environment of the concrete will be necessary because composite materials like carbon, basalt and glass are completely corrosion-free therefore less concrete covering will be needed and so the whole element will be thinner and lighter. Carbon offers yet another plus compared to steel: its high tensile strength provides additional stability.

Material:         carbon leno fabric

Advantage:  good perviousness of concrete, corrosion-free, high tensile strength

Process:          laid in concrete as a reinforcement
